We utilize the Cynosure Elite Laser.  The Cynosure Elite is the top rated laser in the industry.  The laser may be used on the face or body and is best for treating larger areas.  Laser hair removal is popular for the underarms and bikini area as shaving and other temporary methods may leave ingrown hairs and irritation. 

A hand held laser wand is used to target the unwanted hair.  Laser light is pulsed on skin and impairs the hair follicle based on darkness of pigment.  Multiple treatments are required because hair goes through different stages of growth.  Not all hairs are in the same stage of growth at any given time, so multiple sessions are needed to be most effective.

What you can expect at your treatment session:
This is the process, as described by a client, for hair removal of the underarms. 

1. I entered the private treatment room and I lay on a padded table that had clean bedding.   I was provided with a pair of safety glasses to protect my eyes from the bright light of the laser.
2. The laser wand was positioned over my underarm area, and continual cool air was sprayed and then the laser generated a pulse to the skin.  The sensation was similar to the snap of a rubber band.  This process was used for both of my underarms.
3. After the treatment, a cool washcloth was applied, to cool off my skin.
4. Several hours later there were red bumps on my underarms, but they were gone the next morning.
5. I have had a total of five treatments. My forth treatment was two years ago and I've had minimal growth since then.
